Hi Dan,
Thank you for using MySQL InnoDB Cluster. First of all, do you understand what 10 seconds frozen network means in HA architecture ? This is just not admissible, my first option would be to change your provider. It's impossible to create a reliable HA system providing consistency with such bad network.

You already did the requested changes (by readying your blog).

So unfortunately there is nothing you can do. Network performance and reliability is one of the main requirements for MySQL InnoDB Cluster: https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/8.0/en/group-replication-requirements.html
