restore database

I stop the mysql service.
Renamed the directory of the database called mydb to mydb_old.
I started the mysql service.
Trying to use mysql to restore from a dump file called mydb.sql But i get the following msg.
ERROR 1050 (42S01) at line 25: Table '`mydb`.`tableclass`' already exists
Anyone has any ideas what is going on?
