MySQL Usability

I'm getting a bit frustrated with MySQL.

I have a thread in the security forum regarding importing/exporting data to a folder other than the default server data folder - for security purposes of course!

I have changed the secure file priv and local infile variables. Got all the admin permissions, set opt local infile in the connection... to no avail.

As hard as it is to import data into my new tables from a csv, I think I'd rather go to SQL Server, as it is much more developer friendly.

Unless someone has some insight into this issue, I'm stuck importing data via the wizard, which adds hours and hours of work, as I build and test.
