I am glad visiting you too.
I use IIS for this propose but you can change apchee configurats (httpd.conf) that is in txt file fomat. But when you are able see mysql informations in phpinfo() then you are connected to mysql and you have not problem with connection your php version dont support mysql (I think) if you downgrade your php version your problem will be solved.
