Thanks Rick, that help.

What I'm trying to gather are statistics on production deployments for some product research I'm doing.

The SQL Server Virtualization whitepaper from VMware says things like:

"....Over 50 percent of these database applications run on two-way symmetric multiprocessor (SMP) machines, and in 90 percent of the cases transaction rates are under 20 transactions per second. CPU utilization averages less than 10 percent and approaches 20 percent at peak levels."

Intuitively, I believe this. But am trying to gather more detailed info. I'm going to conduct some primary research of my on on this if I can't find what I'm looking for.

If anyone would like to participate, please let me know. I'll share the results with the participants as well.
