insert ignore ... auto increment value

Hi,

I have a table with 2 column : sid, rawid

sid is primary key with auto increment value.

rawid is unique value.

thus i use insert ignore, it does not do anything should rawid exist.

however, i realize the auto-increment value increases even if row is not inserted. is there a way to prevent this?
