Re: Drop schema taking a very long time

The drop schema is still processing after almost 4 days. It is using the innodb file per table setting. But I am dropping an entire schema. It's unclear to me why this is taking so long. Since I'm dropping a whole schema, why would it be doing any kind of integrity checks? Using process explorer I can see the mysql service has written over 326 GB (I/O Write Bytes) and read over 147 GB (I/O Read Bytes). It's definitely doing something and there are no other processes accessing the database.

Does anyone know what will happen if I cancel it? or simply reboot the machine? What happens if I simply delete innodb files (*.frm & *.ibd) and the directory that houses them. Will this screw up the database?

Thanks
