William,thanks for the reply.I have never tried this in my Linux server,in fact seeing this for the first time.I will give a try on this in my testing box.
But just one thing ,is there a possibility that MySQL server can just die off you when connections exceed max_connections+1 value without throwing error "too many connections"?
