Hi Shawn

Thanks for the incredibly rapid response! The query you provide almost does what I want except that the sire breed data is duplicated in BOTH the sire and the dam columns of the results table even though the breed code for dam in the original data table is different from the sire code. The results table I got is:

dog sire dam
1 poodle poodle
2 Terrier Terrier
3 labrador labrador

I'm not sure I understand your very first sentence, namely, "You are not tracking the dam code for the dog, so you can never display it. It's not in the join(s), it's in the data." Could you elaborate, please?
