Case Sensitivity for View Names

Case sensitivity for database and table names is regulated by the lower_case_table_names system variable. When it is set to a value of '2', database and table names are stored using the case with which they were specified. For a shop that uses PascalCaseNames, this is significant. However, view names are stored in lower case regardless of the setting for lower_case_table_names. Is this by design? Is it a MySQL policy that is negotiable?
