The test data I sent was cut short of the full set in my tables but I am surprised that nothing at all was returned from the view.
In answer to the question 'What does the query return', It brought back ldz_from_rec_region as 15 and each of the 14 distinct_region (10 - 23) (so each row is 15,10 - 15,11 etc
The aim is to have 1 row for each of the 14 regions with 1 related ldz and ldz_exit. Which ldz it returns doesn't matter, I just need 1 example of each.
My biggest concern is still that the query works in 5.6 and not in 5.7. Other than the versions the databases are identical.
