Backups and replication are your only option unless the schema and data are disposable.

If you had periodic backups and were running the binary log, you could restore to a backup before the upgrade then run the binary log to just before the upgrade. But you'd lose all the data since unless you figured out a way to make those later transactions work with the non-upgraded schema.
