Suddenly connection to server aborted

I installed MySQL Server 5.7.19 (local host) and Workbench 6.3.7 on a Windows 8.1 machine. Installation worked fine. Database, tables, relations created. After 3 days server stopped and could not be started again.
Since I could not find a solution I installed MySQL Server 5.7.19 (local host) and Workbench 6.3.7 on a Windows 10 machine. Same situation: After some days server stopped and could not be started again.
The log says:
"Aborted connection 142 to db: 'unconnected' user: 'root' host: 'localhost' (Got an error reading communication packets)."
When I try to start the server via Workbench, the following message appears:
"Could not start server: error(10054, 'Eine vorhandene Verbindung wurde vom Remotehost geschlossen')"
(i.e. An existing connection was closed by the remote host").
Any help is highly appreciated!
