Sorry Peter, I sent my last message prior to reading your response.
Im using C++/QT in Windows as a development platform, and yes...it appears as though some threads stay active for a very long time...but I cant put my finger on why that is happening.
I guess the problem may not be as extreme as I feared if the TIME column on the SHOW PROCESSLIST is expressed in seconds? I have threads that are open for times exceeding 23000, so if it is seconds, This would only be between 6-7 hours. It still far longer than I would anticipate a single thread being open thought.
So the question still remains. Is there a way programatically that I can close a thread when the program is terminated?
