Mysql Version Upgrade from 5.6 to 8.0

Hi experts,

I have one application which is running on JBoss and built upon JDK 1.6.
It is using mysql 5.6 as Database.

Now I want to upgrade the version of Data base from 5.6 to 8.0.

Is it doable ?
What kind of checklist I need to follow ?
