Hello again,
I found the answer to my issue: I was not aware, but if you change the attribute (column name, type, size, etc.) of ANY of the underlying tables involved on the basic views it COMPLETLY INVALIDATES that view.
I didn't realize about it 'til I refreshed my schemata and alas, my basic view has disappeared!
Sorry 'bout the issue, hoping it'd help someone else.
