HUGE Tmp SQL Files problem

Hi,

I might not be understanding exactly how the tmpdir tmp files work, but this seems unusual - I am running a procedure that creates a cursor using a select - this select is done over a table of about 55M records - the disk size of the table is about 1.8GB - the tmp SQL_ file created in the tmpdir is already at about 160GB and still growing!!!

Why is this tmp SQL_ file so large and out of proportion of the actual data which is 1.8GB? Can anything be done to optimize this or is this a bug?
