Re: Slow UPDATE's on a large table

I've just made those changes and it did speed up the Update speed massively :D (200ms vs 1200ms before).

However, the problem with the exponentially increasing amount of time it takes to do an update remains. i.e. after 30 minutes, the update step is again taking 1200ms to finish, and the amount of time taken is increasing.

To me this feels like a caching issue. i.e. the new updates come in before the previous ones have been written to disk.

Any idea as to where the problem might be? How about how to diagnose?
