1. The error message is probably only an aftereffect of the real error that it tried to report.

2. The ';' in C;\... is weird. Can you please check that this is not a colon but indeed a semicolon? If so, please check if you accidentally typed a semicolon in one of your configuration files or during the installation of MySQL.

3. Your attempt to solve your problem with "mysqld --lower_case_table_names==2" looks reasonable, but please try to replace "==" with "=" (i.e. option arguments should be gives after a single '=', not a double one).
