At the moment I've gone back to thinking it's a hardware problem. I ran a couple of data dumps straight after each other and the data has come out corrupted sometimes, but in different places each time in the dump. When I go back to the database, the data is correct, I've also had a couple of random crashes in other apps on the server. So at the moment I don't think it's the database thats causing the problem, I think it's a RAM problem.

I'm hopefully getting another server with the same hardware spec set up in the next day or two, once this is set up I'll hopefully be able to figure out if it's a hardware or software problem.
