cool. i'll get all that extra info posted here-- but the problem is-- i do know my local testing server is MySQL 4.1.14-nt-max, and i've been using MyISAM, but i haven't investigated yet what that of my client will be. i did notice today that they're running
Apache/2.0.53 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.0.53 OpenSSL/0.9.7a PHP/4.3.10 if that helps at all-- i mean, i realize the info you're asking for isn't there-- but at least i have that for now in case of the unlikely event that i'd encounter a PHP5 vs 4 issue.

thanks for the help so far!
