I don't know how it worked, but I tried it this in phpMyAdmin:

I checked the box of Longitude, clicked "Change" below, instead of the change link on the list...

Then modified the column type to "geometry", NOT NULL, and no value in length and this time it worked.

Did it also that way to Latitude, and it also worked.

Then I viewed the list, checked the box to the first one, then clicked the "Spatial" on the bottom list of things to do, not on the list itself, and it worked.
Did it to the other that way and it worked too.

So I guess, it was something to do with the link I clicked in, on the list. Not sure. but anyhow, it worked. So the table is as I want it.
