In an attempt to reproduce this on a non-live system, I noted the state 'freeing items' in the output from SHOW PROCESSLIST, although didn't see any System Locked states. As expected, this isn't documented in the online manual - is this relevant? Does it tie in with the flushing of the key cache? Or is it something else?
It would be REALLY useful if the online docs detailed what the states were, it does say "some are only useful for debugging" which is all very well but isn't that largely why people are using SHOW PROCESSLIST anyway?!
