I was dead in the water this morning. Absolutely nothing was working right in my database and I was completely stumped. Then I found your posting, realized I had also used MySQL Administrator to change some settings, and inspected the my.ini file. Amost every line was commented out. I replaced it with a my.ini backup, restarted the server, and now it works!
