I think the problem is with mysql error reporting. That's why everybody have different solutions. It is all mixed up. If there is any problem in your foreign key constraint creation statement mysql just tells you error no 1005. It happened to me even for spelling errors on table name. Just check your statement one more time. make sure everything is spelled properly the foreign key field type and other properties match the referenced key exactly.
