Re: recover innoDB backed up with mysqlhotcopy
mysqlhotcopy copies the binary files of the MyISAM tables, copy these files back to the database directory, and you will get the MyISAM tables, 3 files per table. Restore these on another newly installed MySQL server and then use mysqldump to export the data, edit the file and change the storage engine to InnoDB then restore.
