Yes, I agree with those best practices, but it doesn't fix my broken InnoDB reporting.

Since I do log deadlocks, I can see one of the queries that caused the deadlock, but I cannot see the other (which completed successfully after one was rolled back), so logging only gives you half the picture.

Again, my question is how to fix InnoDB so that it *actually* reports the last deadlock instead of reporting a deadlock from months ago and never updating.

Or is this a bug in MySQL? I'm leaning towards that.
