If O_DIRECT is disabled then could it be the ZFS buffer cache? If there is a redo log write followed by a data file write then the pattern definitely originates from InnoDB.If the buffer doesn't have any dirty pages and there are only data file writes then it could be pages from the OS/ZFS buffer cache.
