CREATE TABLE ENGINE=INNODB DATA DIRECTORY = '/external/directory'

Cuando requiero crear una tabla de manera externa en Mysql 8, me sale el siguiente error:

Error Code: 1030. Got error 168 - 'Unknown (generic) error from engine' from storage engine


¿Mysql 8 soporta esta consulta?
