Re: New openGIS functionality in MySQL available for testing

Great work Alexey. I have a half a billion row spatial database from which I have to cut out non-square chunks, so I'll give the new non-MBR based functions a good test. This is the missing piece to make MySQL fully openGIS (OGC) compliant and bring MySQL in line with Postgres and Oracle in this area. It would be great to get this into the next major MySQL release.

On another note, I took me quite a while to build from the bitkeeper source (linux, ubuntu 7.10), due to a libncurses library being in the wrong place, though it was my first attempt. If you could make the binaries available you might get more testers. I think there are more people out there who are comfortable with spatial sql than with building MySQL from source.
