Just to add another voice, I would also like to join in testing once either:

a) the updated binary is published,

or

b) mysql-recommended and explicit step-by-steps to compile the sources can be given. (ie. no gaps in the step-by-step which make assumptions on the users abilities, currently installed packages or powers to mind-read!!)


Edited: Of course now I expect you to mind-read... oops...
My preferred target binary based on my dev system would be for CentOS 5.1 (aka RHEL5)
