Additional spatial functions/operators to be included in MySQL 5.0?

Is the upcoming 5.0 release likely to have additional spatial functions? For example, many of these spatial operators/functions/queries are reported to not be implemented in the current versions. http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/functions-that-test-spatial-relationships-between-geometries.html.

I'm embarking on a webmapping app and I'm trying to decide b/w PostGIS (http://postgis.refractions.net/) and MySQL with spatial storage and functions. Right now, PostGIS provides many spatial operators. Will MySQL catch up?

Thanks!
