Is pgcc dead / outdated?
According to the documentation:
"# By choosing the best possible compiler for your system, you can usually get 10-30 % better performance.
# On Linux/Intel, compile MySQL with pgcc. (The Pentium optimized version of gcc). The binary will only work with Intel Pentium CPUs, however."
However, a visit to the website that maintains pgcc shows old content with many broken links, which makes me wonder if this is a dead project, or if current gcc versions make its once-usefulness obsolete/irrelevant...?
Anyone here know about this? Forgive my ignorance -- I'm a newbie.
