Newby Question MyISAM & InnodB

Hi Folks;

I know little about SQL so forgive me if I'm asking a dumb question....

I have a discussion forum and it's tables are all MyISAM I was using MySQL Administrator and saw that you could change tables to other types such as InnodB.

I tried changing one to innodB and it didn't work (the option was in red).

Question: Can a person normally change a table containing data to another type just by pulling down that option box?

Otherwise, how does a person change tables to different storage engines?

Also, is innodb better then MyISAM?

Best & Thank You!
Marvin
