How to scale MySQL Cluster to support PB storage

Am looking at ways of how to improve MySQL cluster performance and storage capacity to scale several PB of storage handling several thousands of connections. The understanding is that MySQL cluster relies on indexed data to be available on RAM memory to be fully functional. While this is good, this presents a cost ineffective solution where relative price of pop/server per GB RAM is relatively expensive, maximum a cheap node can go is upto 32-64 GB RAM. This becomes very expensive solution when several nodes need to commissioned to scale upto TB of RAM in order to support PB of data storage.
The note is that there is no effective caching solution that provides better utilization of RAM.
How are current solutions using MYSQL cluster be able to support upto PB of storage/1M+ of clients etc. Any pointers is appreciated.
