Hi James,

Thanks so much for your detailed, knowledgible answers. But I seem to have stumbled on my very first step into INNODB :(

My myisam table had 601,102 rows. I converted it to INNODB with "alter table engine=" command. The query executed successfully.

Now,

select count(id) from TABLE;
---> gives me 76,280

Which suggests that the number of rows I have are lessened somehow??! Just to check:

select max(id) from TABLE;
---> gives me 601,102 -- so this seems right!

What gives? What am I missing? Thanks in advance for any tips!
