fast readonly db?

i have a database that is read-only and should be as fast as possible. MyISAM seems to be fast and i wouldn't know of anything faster. maybe it could be even faster if i could somehow disable the whole writing-functionality?

what i want to know:
how can i optimize the database to be fast for reading?

i tried HEAP but i think it was too much data. its about 5MB i think.
