OH! OH! just a quick additional note. Changing your settings with SET GLOBAL will NOT make them perm. When you restart the MySQL server they go back to your my.cnf settings. I tweak the server, watch things and when a setting looks good I change it in my.cnf file. Since some of your settings are too high, I'd go ahead and lower those ASAP in your my.cnf file. Then slowly raise some wth the SET GLBOAL and run mysqlreport and see what your stats say.

Once you're happy that raising a buffer/setting won't crash your server, add it to your my.cnf file.
