Nothing whatever to do with a oerfect world. It's merely an inference from available indicators. You are running into memory walls, which ones isn't entirely clear, but the first priority should be to kill swapping altogether, and the simplest & cheapest way to do that is to add RAM. For more specific remedies, you'll need to experiment. With large numbers of smallish tables, you probably need to look closely at %table% and %file% settings.
