This could be faulty hardware, software misconfiguration or (less likely then previous reasons) a bug in MySQL. Which version of MySQL are you using? Can you repeat the crash or it occurs randomly? Try to pinpoint which action causes the database to be corrupted. Once you have it, you probably can try it on another computer to figure out if the problem is with MySQL or your configuration.

In you're able to repeat the problem at another computer please gather all information needed to reproduce the problem and submit a bug at http://bugs.mysql.com
