Cluster won't work with different endian nodes in the cluster. It is thought that mixing architectures should be okay though (assuming endian is the same) - somebody else may be able to clarify there.

However, the management server node requires very little resources, and as long as you have 3 (or more) IA64 machines, you could just run the mgm server on one of them (as well as a sql or storage node).
