If you have two nodes, and 2 as your NoOfReplicas, then all data is stored on both nodes.
If you have 4 nodes (and NoOfReplicas=2), then you will have half your data on each node. It just so happens that there is a mirror image for each node (2 copies of each half = 4 nodes).
