Interesting... maybe it uses a different method than the standard "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM foobar"?

The above will work on any table (and be fast on NDB tables - because we rock!).

My guess is that for the size of each table it looks at the size of files in the filesystem - which it can't do for NDB.
