Basic consept and howto

Maybe I did not do my job in that case I ask that you please bare with me, but the documentation I have found is quite technical and I did not find anything wich explain the consept of mysql cluster in a human readable form:)

Can anyone please expain to me what are the diferent part of the cluster,how do they interact and are there any load balansing functions in the cluster besides the way multiple data nodes ineteract to carry the database?

In our case we have a 3.5 GB database, 6 64Bit servers with 2 GB ram to run the storage part. That part is working. What hardware - with wich elements of the cluster structure shuld we add to additional servers - to get a fast setup that works good? And how can we scale these additional parts up as usage increases?

Can someone give the big picure at the same time maybe som practical advice?
