Sorry, I'm a little bit confused about you disk space calculation.. We have 8 boxes for data nodes, each with 2gb of ram. and on each box cluster's folder is about 7-8Gb big (this depends on your configuration option NoOfFragmentLogFiles) + backup direcotory, in which each backup takes about 1gb.

You will probably require faster disks when these nice guys make their 5.1 version, which will be much faster (actually 5.0 is already faster than 4.1, but it's a beta..) and disk-cluster will be there. I'm not saying that SCSI is not so good, as it's fast, but SATA and especially SATAII with Raptor disks is also a very good option.
