ndbd failing to start

I am running Mysql 4.1.13 on Redhat Fedora Core 4 in a environment similar to the one described in "Simple Multi Computer HOWTO" in the online documentation. Recently the cluster was restarted and the ndbd process does not seem to want to come all the way up. In the cluster log I see :

2005-08-09 10:03:14 [MgmSrvr] INFO -- Node 1: Node 3 Connected
2005-08-09 10:03:48 [MgmSrvr] INFO -- Node 3: Start phase 1 completed
2005-08-09 10:04:48 [MgmSrvr] INFO -- Node 3: Start phase 2 completed (system restart)
2005-08-09 10:04:49 [MgmSrvr] INFO -- Node 3: Start phase 3 completed (system restart)
2005-08-09 10:06:42 [MgmSrvr] ALERT -- Node 1: Node 3 Disconnected
2005-08-09 10:06:43 [MgmSrvr] INFO -- Mgmt server state: nodeid 3 freed, m_reserved_nodes 0000000000000012

in the ndbd error I log I have this :
Date/Time: Tuesday 9 August 2005 - 09:15:42
Type of error: error
Message: Internal program error (failed ndbrequire)
Fault ID: 2341
Problem data: DbdihMain.cpp
Object of reference: DBDIH (Line: 8046) 0x0000000a
ProgramName: ndbd
ProcessID: 27863
TraceFile: /var/lib/mysql-nodeB/ndb_3_trace.log.8
Version 4.1.13
***EOM***

The trace log is huge (1M) and does not contain any information that I can understand.

From this information can you explain why the ndbd (data node) is not starting up?
