Hi,
Most of the answers below are no since you are asking about what backups can do.
However MySQL Cluster also employs internal backup mechanisms that are used to
recover the cluster to the point of the failure.

Thus if your cluster fails. Simply restart the nodes again and they will be restored to
a global checkpoint within 2 seconds from the crash (using the default config set-up).
