I'd like to replace my current single point of failures with mysql instances on separate machines by moving to MySQL Cluster (if possible)
Is it transparent? Just setting table types to NDB?
I'll be holding off until 5.1, I definately do not have the RAM available even combining all the machines on my network to handle having -all- the data in memory. But when 5.1 introduces disk-based storage along with the improvements on dynamic column storage requirements, will there be any other gotchas or shortcomings anyone is aware of?
I'll be hosting a few custom-made apps, which I can change somewhat easily if it requires it. Also a few installations of vBulletin, at least one of them is the newest (3.5.1) - has anyone else ran vB with MySQL Cluster yet?
I'm trying to plan out my network/servers right now, and it would be nice to know if this is even an option or not (assume 5.1 is used.)
Thanks,
mike
