Hi Ben

Could you please let us know these :
a. what version
b. is binlogging enabled, if yes are you using
expire_log_day

if you are using binary logging and expire_log_days is enabled, remove that from the my.cnf file and retart the server , instead use purge binary logs command to remove the old bin logs.

let us know if it works.
