Number of machines required for cluster redundancy

6 machines is suggested for full redundancy but can't 2 machines be setup for full redundancy? (A data, SQL, and Management node on each machine.)

Could you not have full redundancy with this type of setup or would it cause a major issue if one of the machines went down?

Also, would having only 2 machines with this type of setup make growing a cluster very inconvenient?

Thanks!
